Rooted in the history of quiltmaking and shaped by the landscapes that surround us, each piece is handcrafted to bring this artform into everyday life — one-of-a-kind or limited edition, made at a human pace.

We believe that making things by hand matters — now more than ever. A Tulaberry quilt honors the makers whose names may have been lost to time, bridges traditional craft with a modern sensibility, and helps future generations discover the joy of creating. Each piece is designed to be used, cherished, and passed on.

Meet our founder

Hilary Ely first developed her love of sewing in her grandmother's house — where creativity was enthusiastically encouraged and fabric scraps were fair game. She received her first sewing machine at 14 and has been creating with fabric ever since.

One of her most prized possessions is a quilt her mother made by hand — a vintage heirloom and the quiet heart of everything she makes.

When not in the studio, she's often found elbow-deep in garden soil, tending her collection of David Austin roses, and finding room for just one more plant. She lives in the heart of the Willamette Valley with her husband and their best furry friend, Flinn.
