Every Tulaberry quilt begins as an idea — and we love bringing new ones to life.

Made-to-order quilts are designed in collaboration with you: your colors, your scale, your story. Each commission is a one-of-a-kind piece, made at a human pace, to live with you for generations. We're currently accepting commissions for work beginning in February 2027.

The Process

  • Every commission begins with a conversation with our lead quilt artisan. We'll take time to understand your vision before proposing a color palette, design sketches, fabrics, batting, thread, and quilting design — along with a price quote and estimated timeline. We'll refine together until we're both excited about what we'll make.
  • Once we've aligned on design, price, and timeline, we'll send an invoice. Work begins when payment is received in full.
  • We stay in touch throughout production, and as your ship date approaches, we'll confirm your delivery timeline. All quilts ship with signature required.

Limited Edition vs. Exclusive Designs

  • Limited edition commissions draw from our existing design vocabulary — adapted to the materials and colorways available at the time of making. 
  • Exclusive commissions are wholly original designs developed within the scope of our aesthetic. Exclusive designs require a consultation deposit.

Will my commissioned quilt be one-of-a-kind?

Every quilt we make is one of a kind — but the degree of exclusivity depends on the design you choose.

When you commission a limited-edition design, we work within the spirit of that design, selecting fabrics and colorways available at the time of making. Limited-edition quilts may be offered in multiple colorways, each its own interpretation. We're happy to share fabric swatches so you can see exactly what you're working with before we begin.

When you commission a one-of-a-kind design, your quilt is exclusively yours — a singular combination of color, pattern, and cloth that will never be repeated.

What is the lead time for made-to-order quilts?

Lead time varies depending on design complexity, materials availability, and studio capacity. Once we've aligned on a plan, secured a slot in our studio calendar, and received payment in full, delivery typically runs 8–12 weeks for limited edition designs; longer for one-of-a-kind exclusive designs. We'll give you a more precise timeline during your pre-work consultation.

When should I plan to pay for my commissioned quilt?

Commissioned quilts are paid in full before work begins. As each piece is made expressly for you, commissioned orders are final sale and non-refundable.

What are your standard quilt sizes?

Finished quilt sizes vary by design, and custom dimensions are available in some cases. Your quilt's dimensions will be confirmed before your order is placed. If you have a specific size in mind, please share it during our pre-work consultation.

Can you share an estimated starting price for a commissioned quilt?

Commissioned quilt pricing reflects the time, materials, and craft involved in making a piece that is entirely your own. Every quote is tailored to the specifics of your design — size, fabric selection, complexity, and finishing method. We'll provide a detailed estimate following your initial design consultation.

Will you make a quilt for me using my pattern and/or my own fabrics?

Our commission service is designed around Tulaberry's original designs and curated fabric collections. We don't currently offer commissions using customer-supplied patterns or fabrics.
